Sept. 8, 2014 (Monday)
David drove
himself to the hospital (1 1/2 hours away) and was admitted. This week has been exasperating as
they continued to do test and haven't come up with a diagnoses.
Sept 10, 2014 (Wednesday):
Chrissy
shared:
His shoulder
is now bulging, the doctors have mentioned that he might have “Compartment
syndrome”. They said he could lose his arm soon if he doesn't get surgery. The
MRI shows lots of fluid. His pain level has gone up to a 10. The oncology
team will come in soon, he gets another MRI today and hopefully surgery. Chrissy
was able to drive to the hospital to visit. A friend named Kim took Zach and
will pick up the kids from school. The church helped Chrissy by buying gas so
she could go see him.
They are
getting every picture they can to do a complete surgery. We are still waiting
for him to be taken down for the very last MRI so they can see everything all
together. Then decide what and how to operate.
The results
from the MRI showed swollen lymph nodes in his shoulder and front of
shoulder/arm pit....that's news to us but no surprise, he is in a lot of pain
there. They will cut out one to biopsy it probably tomorrow. The MRI will be tonight.
Sept 11, 2014 (Thursday)
Swelling is increasing rapidly, biopsy this
morning,........ different opinions flying all around...some scary some not so
scary. He is in a ton of pain, on a Dilaudid push into catheter.
A friend from Chrissy’s prayer group brought dinner,
Chrissy was very thankful.
Sept 12, 2014 (Friday)
David had an MRI aspiration, afterwards he said he was sore
and groggy.
Sept 13, 2014 (Saturday)
Chrissy and the kids made it to the hospital for a visit,
Ethan woke everyone up at 6:15 am, took care of the dog and got water
bottles and snacks packed! We got everyone Chick-fil-A and got
here at 8:30 am. David was in a lot of pain when we they got there. He was
given pain meds and then ate. The nurse was sweet and brought blankets for them
to sit on and extra juice and Jello. The oncologist moved him over to oncology
floor today.
Sept 15, 2014 (Monday)
Pastoral team from their church came to visit David
today.
The Oncology Doctor is extremely concerned, David had a
spinal tap today and will be getting a bone marrow aspiration tomorrow.
Probably Chemo treatment starting next week
He hasn’t eaten since Saturday morning. He weighs 123
pounds
In summary, after throwing around many options of what could be wrong with David’s arm. The current theory is that the Leukemia has returned. They will know more when the biopsy, spinal tap & bone marrow aspiration results come back. Please keep David, Chrissy & the kids in your prayers. Any support you can offer…either prayer, time and or financial would be appreciated.
