To catch you up, here is a summary since the last post:
November 8, 2012:
David was discharged and we celebrated his 28th birthday.
February 2013:
David was still struggling with his eye and was in Irvine having it looked at
by a specialist. It looks cloudy and he can’t see well out of it.
March 2013: David
went back to work with the Riverside Sheriff’s department.
August 2013: They
sold their home in San Jacinto, CA and moved to North Carolina where they have
almost 6 beautiful acres of land with a stream. They have worked hard cleaning
land, enjoyed growing a vegetable garden & raising chickens.
February 2014: David’s
eye was diagnosed with Leukemia and they treated it with 18 doses of radiation.
Dealing with the VA for medical benefits has been very
frustrating. There is not one point of contact and progress on getting help has
been slow. Chrissy has tried to contact their Senator to try to get some help expedited.
August 2014.
David’s arm has progressively gotten more swollen and sore. He has thought it
was from compressed discs in his back and neck from carrying heavy packs in the
military. An MRI to his back has shown the enlarged discs.
