Chrissy arrived at the hospital in the morning with their
pastor so she could be there for the bone marrow aspiration.
She had some essential oils that she used on David which
helped with his nausea from the pain medication. He was finally able to eat and
hold down some food.
Friends from church watched the kids today. When Chrissy got
home she said they had cleaned the house, put the laundry away. They also
provided gift cards for gas and groceries. What a blessing.
They spoke with their previous oncologist from California
who used to treat David. He suggests that David should try to get into a drug
trial program since the chemotherapy drugs that David has already used probably
won’t work on the Leukemia that David might be suffering from now. It may be
difficult for him to qualify since he has already had a bone marrow transplant.
They also agreed that David should start radiation to the
arm to try to get the swelling down to relieve David from the pain he is
experiencing.
They stayed at the hospital until at 6pm so they could meet
with the radiation team. They are going to wait to start the chemo until the
test results come back.
The hospital discharged David with prescriptions for pain,
but by the time he got home it was too late to fill them and the pharmacy said
the VA would need to authorize it. So they will be driving over an hour away to
the VA to fill the prescriptions there. David was in a lot of pain in the car
traveling with his swollen arm.
