September 12, 2011 (Monday) – Day 12

Today was a very productive day…Chrissy came up and spent the day, David was able to eat oatmeal and they are starting to discuss discharge.

What's amazing to me is that the doctors had told us it would take 12 to 24 days for David to feel better and it's exactly 12 days.

We had a 1 hour and 45 minute appointment with the post transplant discharge nurse to discuss many topics including emergency phone numbers, infections, immunizations, nutrition, limitations, Grafts vs. Host symptoms and clinic visits.

One important piece of information was that if anyone has had a “flu mist” vaccination they shouldn’t visit David for 2 weeks after the mist.

David’s ANC count has moved to .13 when it is at .5 he can be discharged. It could move to .5 any day now.
