Yesterday David threw up 3 times in the morning and once again in the evening. Chrissy said he did a lot of sleeping today.
All the supplies delivered to the apartment to have “Home Health Hydration” (an IV) to help keep him hydrated. The nurse will train Chrissy this afternoon on how to change the IV bag. Otherwise, having the nurse come every 8 hours to change the bag would incur a $10 co-pay for each visit. Chrissy says she’s up for the challenge. David wasn’t too excited about it because he said he felt like he was attached to a leash.
While receiving the IV fluids the doctor has also prescribed Zofran for his nausea. David has used it in the past in pill form which isn’t as effective as the IV form. Please pray that it helps.
Decadron is the Steroid medication that David had the other day that helped his nausea so much. However, he was told that it reverses the effects of the chemo so the doctor doesn’t want to give it to David often.
David had to be at the hospital at 1:00 for another dose of IV chemo. It should take anywhere from 4 – 6 hours.
"I sought the LORD, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame."
Psalms 34:4-5
