David’s discharge has been postponed and will stay in the hospital over the weekend.
Joe stopped by the hospital this evening and Chrissy was there. She had made a surprise visit to see David, her sister Angela offered to watch the kids so she could drive out. David was taking a shower when Joe arrived and looked better. Dani Morrison was kind enough to bring dinner.
Chrissy has been working very hard with the Social Worker at UCLA with trying to work out details of the Bone Marrow Transplant. David will be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks immediately after the transplant. Then he will have to stay in the Los Angeles area for an additional 4 – 6 weeks after the transplant for follow up visits. David has been told the insurance won’t cover the cost of a stay at the local transition home. Chrissy is researching staying at a VA (Veteran) home near the hospital during the transition time. She also has to provide evidence that there is a 24 hour a day Caretaker plan for the 4-6 weeks after hospitalization before UCLA will commit further towards the transplant. Please pray for the orchestration of all the details. Coordinating the care of 4 children and David will be a challenge for them.
