David was very agitated this morning. He said that the nurses had disturbed him a great deal throughout the evening. A student nurse had left trash on the floor and when David had the urge to "relieve" himself at 4:00 am, his bare feet discovered the sharp plastic pieces. Plus the IV cords, plugs, heart monitor remotes, blood pressure cuff, Blood Oxygen Monitor on his fingertip were all tangled. After having large dosages of stool softeners for the last several days to help alleviate the intestinal discomfort caused from the constipation from the chemo and trying to maneuver to the bathroom in a hurry, his IV stand fell over and hit him on the head.
He also said his headache was worse from having the spinal tap on Friday.
Dr. Tsang said that this morning's x-rays looked better, the intestinal swelling has gone down. His blood pressure was more normal at 107/68. He also said they would slow down on the laxatives and increase the kinds of soft foods David could have but requested that he not eat any fried foods.
The blood cultures came back showing e coli bacteria.
He still has the sores in his mouth (common side effect from chemo) and has to use a special mouth wash.
Between the loss of David at the house, caring for 4 small children alone and the extra traveling she is having to do, Chrissy could really use some help with housekeeping. If anyone is available to volunteer (even for a short time), please let me know.
