August 11, 2010 (Wed.)

David had a fever last night of 100.3 and has a sore throat and felt really sick. Chrissy called the Chao Center today to inform them of his condition. The coordinator called in two prescriptions to the pharmacy. One was called “Magic Mouth Wash” (which they already have at home) and the other is an anti-viral (which the pharmacist says is prescribed for herpes, which he doesn’t have!). She was very frustrated at the seemingly lack of care. The pharmacist said the coordinator was asking her how much to prescribe. He was sleeping when we stopped by today at 3:00 pm.

David is scheduled for another dose of chemo next Tuesday, August 17th. It will be the PEG injection that makes him so nauseous. He will also need to have another Bone Marrow aspiration 1 ½ weeks after that.

They are hoping to hold off on the bone marrow aspiration until after they get back from a mini vacation that have been looking forward to for months. With the delays in the chemo treatments, the time that they had anticipated for David to recover has been shortened. Please pray that he is strong enough for their trip. They have friends lined up to watch the kids and were hoping to go to Disneyland for a couple of days and stay at a local hotel. If anyone has access to getting them tickets or knows of a person that can sign them into the park they would be very appreciative.

Yesterday when we talked to David, Dr. Sender will need to prescribe the Home Health Care nurse through Quest to come back to their apartment to start his blood draws again, since it gets canceled when he gets admitted to the hospital.

Then the LORD answered me and said:
"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it,
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But in the end it will speak,
and it will not lie.
though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry."
Habakkuk 2:2-3
