Last night Joe said he picked up
"huge" dinner for David at TGIFs of shrimp/steak and cheesecake. He
needed his steak cut into itty bitty pieces because his mouth is so sore.
Joe also said...
"David was awaken for his vitals around midnight .. so what do two guys do at midnight? Cheerios and Counter Strike … David clean’d up the BOTs (Robots in the computer game) with little effort. They were again waken up at 3 am and 4 am. Sleep is precious but hard to come by when you are being poked and prodded at all hours of the night."David said he had a “good & restful day today” . The results of the spinal tap came back "negative" which is a good sign that the cancer hasn't spread to the brain.
He also received more clarification
that he won't be getting a new chemo. They will be giving him Vincristine,
which is a chemo he has received before. However, they will be administering to
him in a new way (not quite sure how) because of all the other treatments he
has had in the last couple of years. Hopefully
the new will agent will help avoid the Neuropathy (loss of nerve sensation) in
his hands and feet that David usually gets.
Julie Messina, David’s Nurse
Practitioner when he first was at UCI came to visit today.
David has been taking Emergen-C
(powdered Vitamin C) which has helped him feel better.
Angel, David's sister has been
searching for foods that David can eat with his sore mouth that he likes...she brought him organic baby food, he likes the
soft texture.
