Sept. 17, 2012 (Monday)

We got a text from David this morning at 5:30 am asking for a Breakfast Bowl from Farmer Boys, when we arrived with the food he was very talkative. We stayed and visited for about an hour. His mouth pain is still very bad.

Chrissy sent a picture of the kids talking to David in the morning before school.

Karen, the nurse practitioner came by to do a spinal tap but after diagnosing David with Thrush (a candida mouth infection that occurs most often in people with cancer or weakened immune systems) they have postponed his spinal tap and bone marrow aspiration until he feels better.

They have added a long lasting morphine tablet along with a mouth wash to help manage the pain.

Joe and I stopped by the hospital on our way home from work and sat for a couple of hours. Angel, his sister came by and brought groceries that David had requested. Organic berries, carrots, pears, etc.

He showed us a print out of some of his blood counts. Here are some that I recognized that have changed since admission.
