David asked Chrissy to call UCLA and ask about whether he will need a PICC line or a Hickman line for his central catheter. Chrissy was told that David will need a Hickmann line but he won't have the procedure until he is admitted at UCLA. A new PICC line was inserted today, the last one was looking questionable.
Following the phone call with UCLA , Chrissy sent out a text that said....
PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! David will be admitted for his transplant the beginning of August! HE has answered our prayer and fasting! PRAISE THE LORD

We are still waiting for many more details and answers, but this is wonderful news!

David was feeling really badly today. He said he didn't get hardly any sleep last night. The air conditioning and his face/sinuses are really bothering him.

Platelets are at 13 and his WBC is at 300.

Jonathan, a friend of David requested that we go to the market and get David some organic fruits, vegetables and vitamins. We went to Whole Foods and bought him organic carrots, apples and pears along with liquid vitamin C. While we were with David, he ate 3 of the carrots, he actually had a bit of humor jiggling the carrot and watching the end of the root wiggle. It was nice to see a little playfulness.

While we were there, he requested a pain pill for this face/sinus pain which he is now thinking may be from the Shingles. The doctor has also prescribed a medication that will help with the over sensitive nerves from the shingles, it may take several days to take effect. We asked him if he thought heat might help alleviate the discomfort, he agreed to letting me ask for a hot pack for his face. The nurse told me it had to be prescribed by a doctor so before we bugged the doctor, we tried a heated blanket and hot wash rags on his face and he said they helped. The nurse was calling the doctor to order a hot water heating pad.

Then we went across the street and brought back some rice and fed him about 1/2 the container before he fell asleep.
