David was admitted into the hospital last night. This afternoon he was given 2 bags of blood and platelets, then was started on a very strong dose of Methotrexate. It was given in an IV drip over 23.5 hours. His blood was then tested twice a day to test the level of chemo in his blood. Once the chemo level got down to a specified level, David would start receiving IV drips of Leucovorin (Folic Acid). When leucovorin and methotrexate are used together, this therapy often is called leucovorin rescue because leucovorin rescues healthy cells from the toxic effects of Methotrexate.
He was told He would be allowed to be discharged once the chemo level was below .08.
Chrissy had a birthday party planned for the Ethan, who turned 5 in May, and Anna who turned 4 this month. They had a fun time with family and friends. One of the games they played was "pin the hair on David"
