Early this morning they weren’t allowing David to eat because they were planning on removing the PICC line and having a Hickman line inserted, by the afternoon the doctors had decided to leave the PICC line in and monitor David closely. They continue to draw blood cultures everyday to make sure the PICC line doesn’t get infected. A Hickman is a different kind of central line that David will need for the bone marrow transplant.
