The surgery went well. The surgeon did exactly what he set out to do, remove dying intestine that had collapsed in on itself. Inside the section was a huge lymph node, which will be tested. Unfortunately, the surgeon found a long trail of growing lymph nodes, connecting themselves to his intestines and blood flow to them. He cannot remove, but they will also grow to obstruct his blood supply if not taken care of. The surgeons first thought is cancer. We will have to wait and see. David is very sore, but slept some last night.
