Joe took David the infamous Breakfast burrito this morning. David called later in the day and said they might release him for a week, and then keep him for up to 28 days again. He said that they like the aggressive attack and want to nail it down now.
He finally had a spinal tap this afternoon at around 2:00 pm, it went well. Chrissy said he wasn’t able to lift his head afterwards but had a great appetite for dinner which she helped him eat.
Chrissy said the hospital is still working on his discharge orders but he will need to be back in the hospital on Tuesday for his next treatment so it may be a short time at home.
We were told that when they remove the spinal fluid it leaves a void of fluid surrounding the brain which causes the headaches. They also inject Chemo into the spinal fluid to try to replace the void which doesn’t seem to agree with him a great deal.
"Come and listen, all you who love God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld His love from me." Psalm 66:16-20
